I love nothing more than to find/discover a wine that will invoke joy and emotion in those around me. A true Zimbabwean, becoming a sommelier is not typical for someone of my background and upbringing. Zimbabwe in itself is not typically a wine producing or wine drinking country and in my experience, both in my sommelier training and in the space around me, there are very few from my background who look like me. Becoming a sommelier is not just about knowledge, but it comes from a place of passion and a commitment to a lifelong education in the world of wine – something that goes way beyond my training.
